Low Impact Development Techniques Required for the Puget Sound Region

Washington Pollution Control Hearings Board issued a ruling on 8/8/08 requiring that cities and counties around Puget Sound take significantly more aggressive steps to reduce stormwater runoff.

The Board concluded that the permit’s focus on traditional engineered stormwater management facilities like detention ponds was inadequate to protect Puget Sound and meet the law’s requirements.  The decision reads,

“The Board concludes that the Phase I Permit fails to require that the municipalities control stormwater discharges to the maximum extent practicable and does not require application of all known, available and reasonable methods to prevent and control pollution, because it fails to require more extensive use of low impact development techniques.”

WWHM3 PRO Basic includes the low impact development (LID) techniques required to meet the Board’s requirements.  For more information go to WWHM3 PRO BASIC

An update to the map control in WWHM3 has caused a problem loading maps. Solutions: remove all *.sbn and *.sbx files in C:\Program Files\WWHM3\allmaps directories. New Allmaps installations are available on the download page.

May 2007
Fixed bug in Splitter element. 2nd outlet flows now work correctly. NOTE:  If your projects had splitters in them, you may want to re-run with this new version.  Flows from splitters in some previous versions may be inaccurate and results won't be valid.

April 2007
A change has been made to the most recent version of WWHM3 that requires updating the allmaps files.
All users that install versions of WWHM3 dated after April 2007 must use the new version of allmaps. The new version of allmaps is not compatible with WWHM3 prior to April 2007. Both versions of allmaps are available on the download page.

March 2007
The Beta version of Basins 4.0 from EPA causes WWHM3 to crash. We are working on a fix that will be posted on this site very soon. All WWHM3 users are urged to not install Basins 4.0 until the problem has been corrected.
